The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Mario Lamothe


Mario Lamothe currently serves as the Regional Director of Search and Rescue Alberta, a volunteer organized and run association that conducts search and rescue provincially. Comprised of 6 regional departments, its assists search and rescue teams in their efforts to provide a superior and dedicated level of service, offering over $1.5 million annually in volunteer infrastructure support for fire, emergency, police, security and first aid teams.
With over 32 years of experience in the Canadian forces, Mario is a seasoned rescue, emergency management professional and firefighter. He spent 6 years as the Captain of the Calahoo Fire Department, and is frequently called upon for his expertise in wildfire and ice rescue. Mario holds an impressive number of certifications in his field, including as a Firefighter, Search and Rescue Operations specialist, Ice Rescue Specialist and Wildland Firefighter. He is also qualified in Swiftwater Rescue First Responder Operations, Single unit Incident Management and Vehicle Extraction Heavy Rescue. Mario has completed Hazmat Responder Operation Level, Municipal First Response Aviation Incident, First Responder Electric Drive Vehicle, and is certified in Helicopter Safety Training.
A dedicated technical rescue and disaster response professional, Mario been awarded two CD (Canadian Forces Decoration) medals. He speaks fluent English, French and Arabic. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and fishing.
