As counselor and Professor CC at the University of Hawaii, Ernest D. Libarios, Sr. teaches self development courses to build self esteem and to help students realize the fullness of their potential. With 10 campuses and dozens of training and research centers across the Hawaiian Islands, the University of Hawaii takes advantage of its geographical uniqueness, drawing from the illustrious pool of expertise throughout the Asia/Pacific region. Ernest embodies the University’s values, namely aloha, collaboration, respect, integrity, service, diversity and fairness. This is reflected in his dedication to counseling the students and faculty particularly minorities and disadvantaged groups. Ernest is a community leader, sharing his skills with those around him including prisoners and other community groups. He is also a Deacon at his local Catholic church. He is affiliated with NACADA and the United Visayan Club. He lives in Honolulu with his family where he enjoys spending time with his Ministry, playing music and tennis.
