With over 30 years of international business experience across Europe and North America, Peter Verdaasdonk acts as an administrator, consultant and interim manager in the sectors of Leisure, Culture, Knowledge and Welfare. In this role, Peter was Director of the Tropen Museum in Amsterdam, interim Director of New Land Heritage Center in Lelystad, Consultant on World Exhibition Floriade 2022 Growing Green Cities for the City of Almere and Executive Director of the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals. Having recently joined the organization in May 2016, Peter is a results-oriented director, known for being a strong team player as he adds values and inspiration, motivating his associates and spurring on the mission of the organization.
After earning a master’s in Contemporary History from Utrecht University, Peter went on to study French Language and Literature at Aix-Marseille University. He completed the Nyenrode Business University Advanced Management Program, and is a Certified Commissaris having completed qualification study for members of Supervisory Boards at The Governance University. Peter launched his career in management as the Manager and Director of Disneyland Paris, where he oversaw operations and management at the largest leisure project in all of Europe.
Working to achieve the “best of both worlds” between welfare and business, Peter is driven to merge sound business objectives with the educational and social value of welfare work, culture, arts and history. For six years now, he has operated Verdaasdonk Management and Consultancy, a private consultancy through which he provides advisory services in management, interim management services, and governance.
Peter resides in Badhoevedorp, Netherlands, and speaks fluently English, French, Dutch and German. Outside of running his companies, he enjoys cycling, reading, fine dining, and arts and culture.
