The International Society of Business Leaders Recognizes Raffaele Di Marzo
Raffaele Di Marzo graduated from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ with an MBA in medicine and surgery. He has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and takes constant CME courses in the medical, clinical, epidemiology, and pharmacovigilance fields to expand his knowledge and stay up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations. In addition, he is Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certified. He is a member of the Pharmacovigilance Working Group of Farmindustria, member of the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians & Pharmaceutical Medicine (IFAPP) and the SIM (Italian Society of Mesotherapy).
Currently, Raffaele holds the role of deputy director of scientific and pharmaceutical affairs at Sanofi Pasteur MSD, a company founded in Europe from the joint venture of the biological branch of Sanofi (Sanofi Pasteur) and Merck (MSD). He has always been at the forefront of preventable vaccines, as head of Pharmacovigilance Team, Regulatory Affairs and Quality.
He has an a strong and multifaceted professional skill set, including clinical and epidemiology research and development methodologies; risk management activities, including PV DBs (ARISg and ARGUS); medical-marketing activities for support training; the launching and ethical promotion of pharmaceutical products; administrative management of human resources and simplifying and integrating processes and tools to support those activities; strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with others with diverse backgrounds and to adapt to different cultures local and international team; collaborating with pre-eminent scientists and leading research; and the competence to present and discuss scientific data.
Raffaele gained work experience in the field of pharmaceutical medicine, having started in 1991 as an associate clinical associate in the medical department of the Welcome Foundation. Since 1999, he has served as medical director of the pharmaceutical companies Segix Italy S.p.Aa, and Elan Pharma Italia S.p.A., and as a consulting physician with the Society of Pharmaceutical Contract Research.
