Raphael Lilla is Executive Director at SBC Group AG, an Swiss international group specialized in gold bullion and physical gold trading offering a full range of services and precious metal products through a channel that creates the vertically integrated link between onsite mining, production, refinery of raw gold and sale of pure fine gold (999.99%). SBC Group AG only provides gold products (bullion, retail and personalized items) deriving from its own gold refineries located in Mali and in Italy combined with a pure gold certification made by its laboratory. Operating a platform of cutting-edge mining equipment in Mali, SBC Group AG observes practices both ecological and adapted to local practices, servicing and following up directly with artisanal mining sites. With over 20 years of experience in business management and senior executive leadership, Raphael Lilla is responsible for managing group business under the controlled supervision of the President and owner. He also develops new business, oversees tax issues, and handles various strategic and managerial responsibilities. Raphael Lilla is also Managing Director at SBC International LLC, Dubai, and Executive Director at SBC Group Asia Ltd.
After earning a Master of Law from the University of Freiburg in Switzerland, Raphael Lilla launched his career as a Legal Advisor to INFOSUISSE, where he demonstrated exceptional promise as a legal and financial strategist. In his more than 2 decades in the Swiss and international banking market, he has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Swiss Banking Supervisor (presently named FINMA), Ernst & Young Ltd (EY) as a partner, and in Malaysia/Singapore for BFC Banque Financière de la Cité. Prior to joining SBC Group AG in July 2016, he spent 7 years as the Deputy CEO of Hinduja Bank (Switzerland) Ltd where he was in charge to oversee all the entities and the business of the Bank’s group in Switzerland and abroad from a regulatory, compliance, audit and legal perspective and to manage internal and external governance issues including special projects, particularly in relation to prospective acquisitions. Before he was the Deputy CEO and CEO of Banque de Patrimoines Privés BPG SA, a Swiss private banking institution located in Geneva and in the Bahamas, for nearly 5 years.
Raphael Lilla resides in Switzerland and in Dubai. He and speaks fluent English, German, French and Italian. He is an international public speaker, and remains focused on using his strategic and executive leadership to propel the SBC mission in the most successful way by developing a strong business in respect with the SBC Group’s motto “Fair Trade in a Competitive World”.
